Pump Prices $1 a Gallon Lower than a Year Ago

Portland, Ore. -Gas prices are falling at the fastest rates since last December, and most drivers in the U.S. will pay the least since 2004 to fill up over the Labor Day weekend.

Oregon drivers will likely pay the least amount since 2007. For the week, the national average plunges 12 cents to $2.46 while Oregon’s average tumbles a dime to $2.83.

The national and Oregon averages are at their lowest prices since April and about a dollar a gallon lower than a year ago as drivers nationwide continue to benefit from the relatively low price of crude oil.

AAA of Oregon is also expecting the most Labor Day travelers since 2008. Most will be going by car.
