The new system, Deschutes Alerts, is a free subscription service that notifies citizens in the event of an emergency.
Residents can sign up to receive notifications here
Residents can specify how they would like to receive messages.
When signing up for the new system, residents can specify how they’d like to receive messages, with options ranging from landline and cell phone calls, to text messages and emails.
