St. Charles Getting More Parking

Bend, Ore. – St. Charles Health System is building a anew 510-stall employee parking lot just east of the Bend hospital. The roughly $1 million project is partially designed to offset the loss of 300 existing employee parking spots that will be swallowed up by the patient tower that’s under construction.

Sending employees farther from the hospital to the new lot will allow patients and visitors to park closer, according to Todd Shields, St. Charles director of outreach and support services.

The structure is tentatively scheduled to be completed by early May.

St. Charles officials hope the net gain of roughly 210 parking spots will improve the parking situation around the hospital, which Shields said is especially problematic during the hospital’s busiest days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
