Don’t be fooled by an “arrest warrant” scam

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says don’t be fooled by an “arrest warrant” scam.

Someone is calling people, claiming to be a deputy, saying the caller can get out of an arrest warrant from missing jury duty by paying some money.

This is a fairly common scam, but some people still fall for it, so the Sheriff’s Office is once again telling people that deputies will never contact a person and ask for money in that manner.

If conditions are favorable on Monday, the Deschutes National Forest plans to conduct prescribed burning operations on the Bend-Fort Rock and Sisters Ranger Districts. Firefighters on the Sisters Ranger District plan to conduct up to 42 acres
