(NEW YORK) — Because CBS is adding Thursday Night Football to its schedule this fall, it’s had to make some changes with the rest of its lineup.
Most notably, The Big Bang Theory will begin its new season on a Monday, rather than on a Thursday. CBS has announced its hit sitcom will kick off its eighth season with back-to-back episodes on Monday, Sept. 22. It will serve as a lead-in to the new drama Scorpion and the season finale of its summer series Under the Dome.
The Big Bang Theory will return to Thursdays on Oct. 30, the same night that Two and a Half Men, The Millers and Elementary will be back. Two and a Half Men will enter its 12th and final season.
That date also marks the premiere of a new comedy, The McCarthys.
Thursday Night Football kicks off on Sept. 11 with one of the NFL’s biggest rivalries, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens.
The new drama Madam Secretary launches on Sept. 21; TV’s top show, NCIS, and its new spin-off, NCIS: New Orleans, make their fall debut on Sept. 23; the return of Survivor acts as a lead-in to the season finale of the Halle Berry drama Extant on Sept. 24; and the drama Stalker bows on Oct. 1.
