Dairy in Wisconsin Sets World Record for Largest Ice Cream Scoop

iStock/Thinkstock(MILWAUKEE) — A new world record was set Saturday for the largest scoop of ice cream.

The massive amount of strawberry ice cream was courtesy of Kemps Dairy outside of Milwaukee, Wisc., which was celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Philip Robertson with Guinness World Records, who was on hand to confirm the accomplishment, said the record-setting scoop started to melt on the scales, but was successfully weighed in at more than 3,010 pounds.

This scoop topped the previous record by 2,770 pounds.

Afterwards, the ice cream was served to hundreds on hand for the Cedarburg Strawberry Festival.
