BEND, OR — Hundreds of lightning strikes dotted much of Central Oregon as a strong thunderstorm rolled across the area Tuesday afternoon and evening. According to the Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center, more than 750 lightning strikes were recorded in just a few hours. Crews were called out to a handful of small fires.
And Tuesday was hot as well. The National Weather Service said Tuesday’s highs reached 96 degrees in Redmond and 91 in Bend.
