SCAPPOOSE, OR — A Scappoose police officer shot and killed a German Shepherd that witnesses say was attacking two young boys.
The dog had reportedly broken its chain and chased the boys, who defended themselves with their scooters until they made it to one of the boys’ home.
An officer responded to parents’ 911 call. The officer reported that when he arrived, the dog lunged at him. The officer fired a single shot.
Attempts to locate the owner of the dog have so far been unsuccessful.
