Burn Season Opens Wednesday

Burn Pile

Agricultural and debris burning will be allowed after burn season opens Wednesday, October 1st.

BEND, Ore. — The Central Oregon Fire Chiefs Association have announced the opening of burn season in the tri-county area.

Both agricultural and debris burns will be allowed starting Wednesday, October 1st.

Exceptions are in the cities of Bend and Sisters, and in Sunriver. Those areas have a year-round ban on outdoor burning within their jurisdictions.

The COFCA strongly recommends that those who burn debris begin early in the day, before winds pick up, to check local regulations before burning, and to never leave a burn unattended.
