Russell Wilson: 'Tons of Respect for 49ers'

Kevin Casey/Getty Images(SEATTLE) — The Seattle Seahawks can put a nail in the 49ers season if they are able to walk out with a win on Sunday.

Seattle has won three games in a row and are two games ahead of San Francisco in the NFC West.

“We have tons of respect for who the 49ers are and what they’re about,” Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said Thursday.  “We just love to play the game; it’s nothing about trying to embarrass anybody.”

“It’s about playing great football all the time, trying to play championship football,” Wilson continued.

Seattle is coming off a 24-14 win over the Eagles last weekend and understands that it’s important to keep pace with the Cardinals, who won on Thursday night.

“Great defense to come in here and play us very tough,” Wilson said of the 49ers defense, who is allowing 20.6 points per game this year.  “They’re going to bring some pressure and be physical and try to get to me.”
