Jared Leto Buys Former Military Compound

ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Oscar-winner Jared Leto has paid $5 million to buy a 50-thousand-square-foot former military compound in the Laurel Canyon section of Los Angeles, Billboard magazine reports.

The facility was built in the 1940s and was used to make military training films until the late 1960s, but has since been turned into a private residence, featuring eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, several kitchens and at least half-a-dozen living and dining spaces.

The property also includes art galleries, a soundstage that currently serves as a painting studio, a lagoon-style pool, a courtyard, decks, and stone terraces.

The 43-year-old actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman currently owns a 4,000-square-foot-plus house in the Cahuenga Pass area of the Hollywood Hills, which he bought in 2006 for $1.65 million.

Last year, Leto won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for his role in Dallas Buyers Club.
