Bend Endurance Academy Skiers Top at Race of the Methow

Winthrop, WA – Bend Endurance Academy (BEA) Nordic ski racers had another great weekend of racing this past weekend. This time the team traveled north to the “Race of the Methow” held in Winthrop, WA. The two days served as qualifying races for the Junior Nationals, which will be held in Trukee, CA in March.

Bend Endurance Academy had 15 racers attend which saw Sam Biskup (Male U16), Maya Seckinger (Female U18), and Teddy Widmer (Male U20) on the top of the podium in Saturday’s Classic Sprint races. In Sunday’s Freestyle Distance race BEA had great performances by Maya Seckinger who again turned in a 1st place finish in the Female U18 category and Teddy Widmer who finished 2nd for the Male U18 racers. BEA racers Teddy Widmer, Sam Biskup, Damon Iraggi, Alex Heisler, and Maya Seckinger all posted Junior Olympic Qualifier times in both Saturdays Sprint and Sundays distance race, and Tom Schoderbeck finished in a qualifying time in Sundays distance race.

The Bend Endurance Academy is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. The Academy organizes and operates programs that promote health and wellness within Oregon. The Academy provides athletic coaching, mentorship, educational experiences, volunteer opportunities and events for a diverse group of youth, young adults, and other individuals who desire to excel at endurance sports.
