(COLUMBIA, S.C.) — Devin Booker scored a game-high 18 points to lead top-ranked Kentucky past South Carolina, 58-43.
Kentucky improves to 19-0, which is its best start under head coach John Calipari.
The Wildcats defense stifled South Carolina (10-8) forcing the Gamecocks to shoot 23 percent from the field for the game.
South Carolina took the lead with 4:31 remaining in the first half when Sindarius Thornwell 3-pointer put them up 24-23. But Kentucky proceeded to go on a 14-0 run, taking the lead for good.
Aaron Harrison had 13 points and Tyler Ulis added six points and six assists in the win.
Thornwell had 14 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
