Silva tested positive for the steroid drostanolone, which is the same banned substance he tested positive for back in early January.
“I have not taken any performance-enhancing drugs,” Silva said shortly after the initial failed test. “My stance on drugs is and will always be the same. I’m an advocate for a clean sport.”
This is now the third drug test that Silva has failed; his last was on Jan. 31.
Silva is 34-6 in his career and is coming off a victory over Nick Diaz at UFC 183 in Las Vegas.
