Chargers Extend Left Tackle King Dunlap

San Diego Chargers/NFL(SAN DIEGO, Ca.) — The San Diego Chargers have re-signed King Dunalp to a four-year contract.

Dunlap a seven-year veteran who was taken in the 7th round by the Philadelphia Eagles is scheduled to earn $28 million dollars over the course of the contract.

In 2013, the Chargers signed Dunlap to a two-year contract after he was allowed to leave the Eagles when Chip Kelly arrived in Philadelphia.

San Diego has reaped the rewards as Dunlap stated all 16 games in 2014 and played at a top level. According to Pro Football Focus, Dunlap allowed three sacks on 625 pass dropbacks and allowed 56 hurries on 1,078 passing plays. 

“King has been top notch the last few years for us at left tackle,” quarterback Phillip Rivers said. “It’s very well-deserved for him personally and a huge signing for our team.”
