iStock/Thinkstock(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — Five players scored in double figures for the Fighting Irish, led by senior guard Jerian Grant with 24 points as (11) Notre Dame (29-5; 14-4 ACC) topped (19) North Carolina (24-11; 11-7 ACC) in the finals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament on Saturday night, 90-82.
Notre Dame senior guard Pat Connaughton contributed 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting, while junior forward Zach Auguste had 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
North Carolina led 64-56 with 9:21 remaining in the second half when Notre Dame went on 15-0 run to take a 71-64 advantage with 6:15 to go in the game.
Tar Heels junior guard Marcus Paige scored a team-high 24 points while junior forward Brice Johnson had 20 points.
