(ALAMEDA, Calif.) — The Oakland Raiders signed free agent running back Trent Richardson, the team announced on Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Last week, the Colts cut the 24-year-old Richardson after nearly two seasons in Indianapolis. In 15 games in 2014, he rushed for 519 yards and three touchdowns on 159 carries.
Richardson was originally selected by the Browns out of Alabama with the third overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. During his three-year career, he has rushed for 2,032 yards and 17 touchdowns on 614 attempts.
Richardson is expected to compete with Latavius Murray for the starting running back job with the Raiders.
