Reported Mushroom Poisoning Case In Sunriver

Sunriver, Ore. – Yesterday afternoon deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a mushroom poisoning on private property in the 54000 block of Pinewood Ave. Sunriver, OR. La Pine Fire Department also responded to the scene to assist.

An initial investigation at scene determined several family members ingested poisonous mushrooms after misidentifying them as edible on a phone app. The mushrooms were collected on and around private property. The 4 year old, 14 year old and 34 year old victims were transported to SCMC, Bend via ground ambulance. The 15 year old showed no symptoms of mushroom poising but was also transported to SCMC, Bend for precautionary measures.
