Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Drive Pace Car at Sonoma

iStock Editorial/Thinkstock(SONOMA, Calif.) — Terminator star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will drive the pace car at the Sprint Cup Series Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway in California on Sunday, June 28.

Schwarzenegger will be leading the field to green in more ways that one as he’ll be piloting a 2016 Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell electric car that emits only water from its exhaust. It will be the first time a hydrogen fuel vehicle has been used as a pace car at Sonoma.

“I can’t wait to drive the pace car at Sonoma,” Schwarzenegger said in statement. “It will be an honor to lead these fantastic athletes and champions around the raceway, and on top of it, I get to drive a car that is both powerful and green.”

The latest installment in the Terminator film series, Terminator Genisys, arrives July 1.
