La Pine, Ore. – Last night Deschutes County 911 received a report of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Huntington Road and Riverview Drive, north of La Pine.
The initial reports show a passenger was severely injured.
The driver, 22 year old Jessica CATHEY, and the middle passenger, Jason Gomez, were able to climb out of the pick-up, however the right front passenger, 21 year old Jessica LEE, was pulled from the wreckage by friends who arrived on scene. CATHEY and LEE were transported to St. Charles-Bend by La Pine Fire medics. LEE was admitted to St. Charles-Bend with life threatening injuries.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says CATHEY was driving her 1992 Ford Ranger northbound on Huntington Road when she left rolled the truck. No one in the truck was wearing a seatbelt.
Deschutes County investigators say CATHEY’S blood alcohol content (BAC) was determined to be .18 and that speed and alcohol consumption were contributing factors in this crash.
CATHEY was later arrested and taken to the Deschutes County Adult Jail for DUII, Assault II, Reckless Driving, and two counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person. Bail was set at $70,000.00.
