Salem, Ore. – Here is Speaker Tina Kotek’s remarks about the transportation package stalling in Salem.

“We entered this session with a strong commitment to invest in a transportation package that would address critical needs in every corner of our state. Governor Brown, President Courtney, a bipartisan group of legislators, my office, and many others spent hours doing everything they could to make that happen this session.

“While we don’t have a clear path forward at this point, we all know the need to fix our cracked roads, congested highways, and unsafe bridges remains painfully clear. We’re not giving up, and I look forward to continuing the work to develop the statewide transportation package our citizens and our businesses need in order to thrive.”
