Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Bend Elks fell to the Klamath Falls Gems 4-3 at Kiger Stadium in Klamath Falls Wednesday Night. Gems starting pitcher, Andrew Heideman threw a complete 9 inning game, giving up 3 earned runs from the 11 hits he gave up to the Elks.
A bright spot in the Elks line up was Cooper Hummel who was 3-3 at the plate, with an RBI and is now the number two hitter in the WCL with a .420 batting average for the season. Hummel trails the number 1 batter in the league, Bend Elk Cadyn Grenier, who currently has a .444 average.
The Elks record is now 18-5 for the season and they continue to lead the South Division, now by 6 games over the Medford Rogues who will be in Bend for a 3 game series beginning tomorrow night, Fireworks Night, at Genna.
The final game, the rubber match of the 3 game series is set for Thursday evening in K-Falls, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 PM, just after the Tris and Trey pre-game show that begins at 6:15, all the action can be streamed at bendelks.com.
