iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — The average hipster’s preference for vinyl is finally paying off.

A new report from the Recording Industry Association of America says vinyl sales are doing better than YouTube, ad-based Spotify, and VEVO combined.

Vinyl sales hit $222 million this year against the other music services’ $163 million, according to the data from RIAA.

The numbers for on-demand, ad-based, music services are still doing well, considering last year’s numbers were at $128 million.

Although music consumers may prefer purchasing vinyl for additional benefits such as exclusive content and free digital downloads, according to Digital Trends streaming music services bring in the most money for musicians.
