Ingram Publishing/Thinkstock(LONDON) — The super-wealthy are apparently seeking solace through a new breed of counselors: wealth therapists.

According to the U.K. Independent, not having a financial care in the world can be quite the burden for the famed “One Percent,” some of whom suffer from “wealth fatigue syndrome.”

“[M]y clients have more sense of conflict over their wealth,” notes Jamie Traeger-Muney, an American psychologist and the founder of the Wealth Legacy Group. “They feel lucky and privileged, yes, but they also have unique problems to deal with, and my work is to make them feel more comfortable with their status, to help them see what positive changes they can make in their lives.”

The aim of the Israel-based therapist’s group is to help her well-heeled clients, “lead rich lives.”

“They often go to great lengths to conceal their fortune in social circles in an attempt to pass themselves off as ‘normal,'” she explains. “There is a lot of secrecy around wealth, especially with friends,” say her clients, who feel being “outed” by some.
