Your Body: Are Eyelash Extensions Safe?

Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez are known for their luscious lashes. And women from coast to coast go to extremes to get that long lash look, many of them ditching their mascara for eyelash extensions. But are they safe?
 
One woman got eyelash extensions for the first time last year and they worked great. But by the fourth application, her eyes were bloodshot, itchy and burning.

Symptoms that last like this for more than a day should really be seen by an eye doctor. So what should you do?

First, go to a clean, certified and licensed salon and understand that getting eyelash extensions can be an expensive, time consuming and ongoing process.

And lastly, make sure you are a good candidate. If you wear contact lenses, or suffer from significant dry eyes, this might not be the beauty regimen for you.
