Sisters, Ore. – This morning a Terrebonne woman received minor injuries after a buck mule deer crashed through the window of her car.

Oregon State Police say it happened at about 7:30 a.m. on Highway 20 about 3 miles west of Sisters.

The driver is 79 year old Vona Huggins of Terrebonne. She received minor injuries and was transported to St Charles Medical Center in Redmond. The deer died from the collision. It is believed the deer’s horns struck the steering wheel, stopping it from further entering the passenger compartment and preventing further injury to Huggins.

The public should be reminded October is peak time for deer migration in Oregon with the most deer versus vehicle collisions than any other month.
