Redmond Woman Accused of Sex Abuse With Teen

Redmond, Ore. – A Redmond woman is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16 year old Ridgeview High student. Sally Mae Smith, 39 , was charged today by Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel with two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree, and one count each of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree.

The charges relate to a sexual relationship Smith had with a 16 year old Ridgeview High student.  Smith is a mother of three children, including a student at Ridgeview High.  The court set bail at $30,000 and scheduled her next court appearance for February 23, 2016 at 1:30 pm.

District Attorney Hummel did not mince words when discussing this case: “The allegations against Ms. Smith are serious and disturbing.  Injuring a child so you can live out a perverted fantasy is intolerable. If a jury agrees with me that Ms. Smith did indeed commit these acts, I’ll seek a significant penalty.”
