(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims numbers continued to rise last week, climbing to 276,000, according to the latest figures released Thursday by the Labor Department.
For the week ending March 26, the number of people filing for benefits increased by another 11,000 from the previous week’s unrevised level of 265,000.
The Labor Department said there were no “special factors” impacting last week’s figures.
The four-week moving average increased slightly, rising by 3,500 to 263,250.
