(NEW YORK) — Here’s some happy news for fans of MADtv: the the sketch-comedy series is making a return.
The CW network has ordered eight one-hour episodes, featuring new cast members. Various MADtv alumni will return as hosts. A premiere date has not yet been set.
The CW aired a MADtv 20th-anniversary special in January.
MADtv originally ran on Fox for 14 seasons, between 1995 and 2009, and helped launch the careers of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, Michael McDonald, Frank Caliendo, Nicole Sullivan and others.
