David Letterman, Jon Stewart's “Daily Show” to Receive Peabody Awards

John Paul Filo/CBS via Getty Images(NEW YORK) — David Letterman’s kept a low profile in the nearly one year since he retired from late-night TV last May, though he may take time off from growing his ever-more-impressive beard to accept this honor.

Letterman, 68, along with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, will be honored by the Peabody Awards next month. Letterman will be honored for his contributions to electronic media, while Stewart’s program will be recognized with an institutional Peabody.

In addition, 60 finalists have been revealed for the 75th anniversary Peabody ceremony, scheduled for May 21 in New York.
