(NEW YORK) — We’ve got our first real look at director Antoine Fuqua’s remake of The Magnificent Seven, thanks to a trailer that dropped Wednesday morning — and so far, it looks pretty good.
Denzel Washington — whom Fuqua directed to an Oscar in 2001’s Training Day and, most recently, in 2014’s The Equalizer — and Chris Pratt head an all-star cast in the redo of the classic 1960 Western, about seven gunfighters who band together to protect a town from outlaws.
Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Hayley Bennett, Peter Sarsgaard, Martin Sensmeier, Lee Byung-hun, and Manuel Garcia Rulfo also star. The 1960 original — starring OG movie tough guys Yul Brenner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach and James Coburn — was a box office smash, and spawned three sequels. And then, of course, there’s that theme.
The Magnificent Seven is scheduled for release September 23, 2016.
