Oregonians Get a Raise – Minimum Wage Increase in Effect Today

Statewide – Around 100,000 Oregonians got a raise today thanks to a law passed during the 2016 Legislative session.

Senate Bill 1532, split the state into three regions, each with its own minimum hourly rate.

By 2023, Portland will end up with the highest, at $14.75 an hour.

Midsize counties such as Deschutes and Lane will have a $13.50-an-hour minimum wage, and rural counties such as Jefferson and Crook will have the lowest, at $12.50 an hour.
