Donald Trump Meets with GOP Leaders on Capitol Hill

ABC News(WASHINGTON) — Donald Trump is meeting again with Congressional Republicans to shore up support for his troubled candidacy — his second trip to Capitol Hill in two months.

With less than two weeks before the Republican National Convention commences in Cleveland, Trump is looking to get the GOP’s rank-and-file behind him even as he faces backlash from members of his party. Some Republicans who are facing a tough re-election battle have chosen to skip the convention while others have snubbed invitations to meet with the New York businessman.

Trump’s social media director tweeted out a photo from inside the room with House Republicans earlier Thursday morning.

Trump is currently meeting with Senate Republicans at the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Trump’s daughter Ivanka, as well as his campaign chair Paul Manafort and aide Rick Gates, accompanied the presumptive GOP nominee on his trip to Washington.
