iStock/Thinkstock(JERUSALEM) — Moshe Katsav was Israel’s first high-level politician to be sent to jail. The former President was convicted of rape and other sexual offenses in 2011. Today for the second time, he was denied parole.

A parole board has rejected Katsav’s appeal for an early release, saying the convicted rapist failed to enter a rehabilitation program and continues to deny he committed any crimes.

Cats has two and a half years left on his seven-year sentence. He’s in the same prison as former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who was convicted on corruption charges.
