Fill The Tractor With Fresh Food For Food Banks

Bend, Ore. – The High Desert Food and Farm Alliance (HDFFA), Superior Tractor, Neighbor Impact and the NorthWest Crossing Farmers Market are teaming up with community members to make a difference in the lives of hungry Central Oregonians.

On Saturday, September 17th,the last day of the NorthWest Crossing Farmers Market, HDFFA will be filling a tractor bucket with fresh, local
produce to be donated to Neighbor Impact and area food banks. The tractor will be parked in the center of the Farmers Market, and community members are invited to bring fresh produce from their home gardens or purchase extra fresh vegetables, or fruits at the market in order to fill and overflow the tractor.

Fresh food donations of any size will be rewarded with a pass for a free yoga class at Sunny Yoga Kitchen.

Donors can also enter in a drawing to win a local food gift basket filled with delicious market goods. The drawing will take place at 1:30 p.m., and participants must be present to accept the basket.

This summer HDFFA’s Grow and Give Program has collected over 4,000 pounds of fresh food from five regional farmers markets and donated the food
to area food banks. HDFFA is more than halfway to their goal of 8,000 pounds of local food donations.

Everyone who loves the NorthWest Crossing Farmers Market is being asked to help the High Desert Food Alliancer each their four-ton goal.
