Two Major Construction Projects Will Cause Traffic Delays In Bend

Bend, Ore. – Two important City of Bend infrastructure projects are likely to cause traffic delays on two major streets next week.

The 27th Street Sewer project near the Highway 20 and 27th Street intersection has only created night time detours until now. Daytime construction and new traffic patterns begin soon. Day work will require reducing the travel lanes to a single northbound lane and a single southbound lane between Bear Creek and Forum Drive.

27th Street between Avamere Place and Grand Way and Highway 20 and Bear Creek Road for Southeast Interceptor Sewer Project, lane closures and detours signed, 6 a.m. – 10 p.m., starting September 29.

-Signal at intersection of 27th Street and Forum Drive will be disabled

-Medians and adjacent northbound and southbound lanes will be closed

-Right turns will only be allowed – no left turns or east-west travel

In addition, during the week of September 26, crews will begin work on South Third Street between Wilson Avenue and Powers Road. Construction activity will be limited to one side of the road at a time, with a single lane closure during construction hours only – 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
