Bend City Council Candidates Spar Over Hot Button Issues

Bend, Ore. – Seven of the Bend City Council candidates fielded questions Monday evening in east Bend about the city’s most hotly debated issues – affordable housing, growth and infrastructure.

Dozens of residents listened to the candidates respond to questions and defend themselves against their opponents.

The council has four positions up for election on the Nov. 8 ballot. The are currently held by Jim Clinton, Sally Russell, Doug Knight and Victor Chudowsky who are not seeking re-election. Bruce Abernathy is uncontested and running for Clinton’s seat.
