Scary Clown Sightings In Bend

Bend, Ore. – Over the past few months there have been several reports of seeing “scary clowns” in communities throughout the United States.

Unfortunately, the City of Bend is not immune to this activity.

Within the past few days there have been two “scary clown” sightings in Bend. One
occurred at Cascade Middle School during a youth sport practice on Oct.4.

Students on an athletic team with Cascade Middle School ended up catching the “scary
clown,” who was identified as a local high school student. The student did not face any
criminal charges and the school is handling the situation internally.

During the evening of Oct. 2, 2016 the Bend Police Department received a separate
call regarding another person dressed in a clown suit holding a hatchet or axe.
A juvenile resident of Bend was running in the area of Mt. Washington and Skyliners Road
when he noticed this person walking in the neighborhood. Officers checked the area
but were not able to locate anyone matching that description.
