Injury Accident Lands a Vehicle Upside down in Prineville

Prineville, Ore. – Deputies from the Crook County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of SE Juniper Canyon Rd, near SE Morningside Drive, in Prineville Thursday evening on a report of a single motor vehicle crash with injuries.

When deputies arrived, they located a 2005 Honda Accord, upside down, off the west side of SE Juniper Canyon Rd. It was determined that the Honda Accord had been Northbound on SE Juniper Canyon Rd when it left the west side of the roadway and traveled along the shoulder of the roadway for approximately 300’ before reentering the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle overcorrected after returning to the roadway and began sliding. The vehicle slid through a ditch and struck a tree before rolling onto its roof.

The driver of the Honda Accord, was identified as Kimberly Wasson, age 55, of Prineville. Wasson sustained moderate injuries during the crash and was transported to St. Charles Hospital in Prineville. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Alcohol and or another impairing substance is believed to be a factor in the crash.
