Redmond, OR–The Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) will hold a public open house Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Redmond City Hall from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to discuss concepts for its proposed master plan. The plan, required by the Federal Aviation Administration, is a dynamic long-term planning document that will guide future airport growth and development for the next twenty years. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input.
“Air transportation is vital to our community and a well-crafted master plan helps us remain current in a constantly evolving industry, while meeting the growing demands of our customers,” says Zachary Bass, Airport Director. “Airports have complex relationships with many different entities (city, airlines, passengers, etc.) that must be taken into consideration when planning for the future. Hosting public forums to openly discuss the proposed master plan with these stakeholders and members of the community is the best way to ensure we grow successfully.”
Airport staff and planning consultants will be available to discuss aviation forecasts, needed airport facilities, and proposed airport improvements to best serve Central Oregon for years to come.
