Bend Police were called around 10:19 p.m. to the parking lot of Okawa Steakhouse and Sushi for a shooting complaint. The caller, William McBride, stated he and his friend, Loryn Hubbard, were sitting in his vehicle when a male, who they didn’t know, approached them.

The male, who was determined to be Vicente Guerra, displayed a gun and shot at William McBride, striking him while he was in the driver’s seat.  William McBride and Loryn Hubbard drove away from the area and called 911.  William McBride suffered a non-life threatening injury and he was not transported to a medical facility.

Vicente Guerra was last seen by the victims in the area of the Town Pump.  Several officers, a K9 and a drone were searching for him for about two hours when he was located near the canal in that same area, in a rock outcropping.  Bend Police determined Vicente Guerra was staying in a nearby motel and he was under the influence of drugs when he was arrested.  Bend Fire & Rescue treated Vicente Guerra for exposure to the elements.  Vicente Guerra was taken to the Deschutes County Adult Jail
