A 46-year old Bend man was arrested after an investigation found him allegedly trafficking methamphetamine throughout Deschutes County. Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) had been investigating Thomas VanHoose for the past several months.

“The investigation revealed that on multiple occasions, VanHoose would acquire commercial quantities of methamphetamine from outside the Central Oregon region and distribute it for profit throughout Deschutes County,” a CODE news release stated.

VanHoose was stopped by police while driving in Redmond last Thursday. A search of the vehicle found approximately one pound of methamphetamine, which was concealed within the vehicle, and just under $19,000 in U.S. currency, which was proceeds from the sale of narcotics.  VanHoose was jailed on drug charges.

Detectives assigned to the CODE team executed a search warrant at a Bend storage unit linked to VanHoose and seized approximately nine pounds of methamphetamine, scales, packaging material, and other evidence of the sales, manufacturing, and distribution of commercial quantities of methamphetamine.
