An off-duty Redmond Police officer was cited for DUII and reckless driving after a crash on Cline Falls Road Monday night. At approximately 6:06 p.m., the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a non-injury motor vehicle crash in the area of the 65000 block of Cline Falls Rd. The reporting person advised that the other driver was possibly intoxicated.

During the crash investigation, deputies contacted Hannah Copeland, 44, from Powell Butte, who was the driver of the 1977 Jeep Wrangler. During the investigation deputies determined that Copeland was performing a U-turn near the 65000 block of Cline Falls Rd. and struck the other vehicle. Deputies also determined Copeland was currently under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol).

Copeland was arrested at the scene without incident. She was later issued a citation to appear for DUII Alcohol, and Reckless Driving and released to a third party. The investigation is being sent to the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office for review of possible further charges.
