Big news for the Central Oregon hockey community and fans of collegiate athletics as well. One of our most anticipated events of the year is upon us. When the Oregon Ducks men’s hockey team visited last season to play at Bend’s outdoor ice rink (the Pavilion), they arrived undefeated in the Pac 8 and threw down some next-level action for all to see. Games sold out. Our young athletes from the Bend Rapids Youth Hockey club were especially inspired.
One thing has changed since last year… the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) recognized the Ducks level of play was deserving of a promotion from D2 to Division 1 mens hockey.
