A Bend man that was wanted by police on multiple warrants was arrested after fleeing a traffic stop. At approximately 5:21 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, Bend Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of NW Jefferson Place and NW Delaware Avenue. Officers made the traffic stop in an effort to arrest the 29-year-old passenger with two warrants.

Police say the suspect ran from the vehicle during the traffic stop. Officers set up a perimeter and searched the area, employing multiple K9 units and an unmanned aircraft system (a drone). Officers searched the area for approximately an hour, but he remained outstanding.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., officers located the suspect hiding in a shed on a property in the 400 block of NW Broadway Street. He was taken into custody without incident or injury. He had two warrants for his arrest – a parole violation from the Oregon state parole board related to a previous second-degree assault conviction, as well as a warrant out of Washington County for failure to appear on a larceny charge.Hidni
