Bend Park & Rec Naming Committee Position Open

bend-park-and-recreation

The Bend Park and Recreation District is seeking help from the community to name future park, facility and trail projects. A position is open on the Naming Committee.

Applications are being accepted through Friday, June 30. The applicant questionnaire is online.

“Serving on the board-appointed naming committee is an opportunity to share perspective and insights that will have lasting impacts on our places in the future,” said Rachel Colton, BPRD planner.

BPRD welcomes committee members from an underrepresented population of the community, and those who have relevant historical knowledge, are familiar with the district and community character, or have a passion for placemaking and community building.

The board of directors approved an updated Park, Facility and Trail Naming Policy in 2021 that established a five-member Naming Committee that makes recommendations to the elected board.

For additional information, please contact Rachel Colton, planner, at rachelc@bendparksandrec.org.
