La Pine High School Students Injured In Bus Crash

The latest information from Bend La Pine Schools – A school bus carrying nine students and a teacher from La Pine High School hit ice, lost control and slid off the roadway, striking a tree, early this morning on the Crescent Cutoff Road (Highway 61) halfway between Highway 97 and Highway 58.

At least three students reported non-life threatening injuries and were transported to St. Charles Medical Center. The bus driver and teacher were uninjured.

The bus was on its way to Albany for a welding competition at Linn-Benton Community College. The school district has support staff at La Pine High School to assist any students or staff who may need help today.
