Eagle Crest House Fire Caused By Bathroom Fan

redmond_fire3

Redmond firefighters quickly put out a house fire in the Eagle Crest community preventing it from spreading and causing minimal damage.

The fire was caused by a mechanical failure of a bathroom exhaust fan. This is a good reminder that if your bathroom exhaust fans are making strange noises or are over 10 years old, it is recommended to replace the fans. Exhaust fans should also be cleaned of any build up of dust on a regular basis.

At approximately 7:30 am Saturday morning, fire crews were called to 1405 Harrier Ct in the Eagle Crest area where fire was observed venting through the roof. Crews quickly stretched hoselines to the interior of the structure. It was determined that the fire was in the attic space above the master bathroom. An aggressive attack was made to stop the fire in the attic space. The fire was brought under control keeping the fire damaged limited to a small area.

Redmond Fire & Rescue was assisted by Bend Fire & Rescue and Cloverdale RFPD.
