Traffic Control Changes Near McKenzie Pass

odot-7

Beginning at noon on Monday (9/9/24), travelers near McKenzie Pass can expect traffic control changes to support fire operations. OR 242 (McKenzie Highway) will be closed to all traffic indefinitely at the intersection with OR 126 (mileposts 55 to 77). Crews will remain in the area to assist with evacuations. OR 126 between mileposts 15 and 17 (Belknap Springs area) will be reduced to one lane with pilot cars guiding traffic. Travelers are urged to use an alternate route; do not divert onto forest roads to avoid closures.

Monday morning, U.S. 101 remains closed at milepost 24, about one mile north of the junction with U.S. 26 between Seaside and Cannon Beach, due to a crash.

“We don’t know how long the highway will be closed,” an ODOT media release stated. “So please consider rescheduling your trip until Monday afternoon, or expect an unknown delay. Also, please watch out for traffic backups and emergency responders.” More Info Here
