LWV, City Club Host Candidate Forums

League of Women Voters of Deschutes County, in collaboration with the City Club of Central Oregon, is excited to host a series of candidate forums ahead of the 2024 General Election. These forums will provide voters in Deschutes County the opportunity to hear directly from candidates running for key local and regional offices.

These nonpartisan forums are designed to foster informed civic engagement by allowing voters to engage with candidates and ask questions on issues that matter most to them. Questions from the public are encouraged and can be submitted in advance via the following link: Submit Questions Here

  • Deschutes County Sheriff Candidate Forum
    Date: September 23, 2024, 5:30 PM
    Location: Sawyer Room, Deschutes County Building
  • Senate District 27 Candidate Forum
    Date: September 30, 2024, 5:30 PM
    Location: Sawyer Room, Deschutes County Building
  • La Pine City Council and Mayoral Candidate Forum
    Date: October 1, 2024, 6:00 PM, Mayoral Candidates will take place from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Council Candidates will take place from 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM
    Location: La Pine Activity Center
  • Bend City Council Candidate Forum
    Date: October 7, 2024, 5:30 PM, Position #1 and #3 will take place at 5:30PM and Position #2 and #4 will take place at 6:45PM
    Location: Sawyer Room, Deschutes County Building
  • House District 53 Candidate Forum
    Date: October 8, 2024, 6:00 PM

    Date: October 21, 2024, 5:30 PM, Council Candidates will take place from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM and Mayoral Candidates from 6:45 PM – 7:45 PM

These forums are part of an ongoing effort to promote civil discourse and ensure voters are equipped with the information needed to make informed decisions when voting. For the in-person candidate forums, no signage is allowed and audience members are asked to remain silent during the forums.
